DESMOINE, GILMAN -
My grandfather, Edward DESMOINE, was married in Richmond, VA, in 1917. He gave his place
of birth as France and his place of residence as Princeton, WVa. I have never been able to find
this surname in the census, etc. for WVa. I believe he came to the USA and lived in Princeton
possibly with another french family before he went to Richmond to work and eventually marry Irene
Mallory GILMAN. If anyone recognizes this name please contact me.
Thanks in advance,

CANDLER, PENNINGTON, WILSON -
I am looking for the first and maiden name of my gg-grandmother. She was the second wife of
Edward CANDLER. They had two daughters, Madie WILSON and Ruby PENNINGTON.
There were other children by Edwards first wife, one being my grandfather, Willie O.
CANDLER. The only info I have on her is that she died in Princeton sometime in the mid to
late 50's. I would appreciate anything you might be able to find out. Thank you.

DAVIS, HAMLIN, JOHNSTON -
John Lewis JOHNSTON married Manerva DAVIS Feb 12, 1849 in Giles Co., He was in the
Mercer County Census records from 1850 through 1920 in the East River Township. Manerva died ca
1900 and John Lewis married Jennie or Virginia HAMLIN. Would someone help me find this
second marriage? I hope the parents of John Lewis are mentioned in the second marriage. John
Lewis died about December 23, 1920. Would there be any type of church record for the area around
Adair's Run? I can't find any public record of his death. He was 89 in the 1920 census. His
father was George JOHNSTON. John Lewis is buried in the Johnston Cemetery near Elgood.
Thanks
