Queries sent to one of the counties that I host, must meet the criteria below.

RULES

1. Queries must name specific persons being researched.
• Queries that only give a surname will not be posted.
• Instead, submit the surname for posting on our Surname Register
2. Your query must STATE a connection to the county for the folks named in the query.
• The connection may be as slim as the fact that you've seen similar names in records of the county, but ...
• Stating that you're searching in the county is not good enough. There must be a reason to expect researcher in this county to recognize your family
3. No Queries which are searches for the present location of living persons
• I don't want to become embroiled in right-to-privacy controversies
4. In the subject line or in the message text please state that it's for xxxxx Co QueryPage.
• My crystal ball is foggy, and I host more than one county site. Unless you're specific about where to post it I must either guess or return the query for clarification.
5. Make your query specific, but don't write a lengthy narrative. Try to keep them to 20 lines, but that's not a hard and fast rule.
• No "Indented" or "Register" Reports, or other format that depends on specific line spacing.
• With all the counties I host, the editing to add the HTML tags becomes an onerous workload
6. Although not a requirement, it's nice to include your given name in the text.
• It makes your query more personal, and more likely to receive a response

Does any know of anyone who has a listing of the people that are buried in the Pocahontas Cemetery, Pocahontas, Tazewell Co, Virginia? I know Edna Drosick had the listing but she has since passed away. I know someone has the listing and I was wondering if they will ever publish this listing.

I'm trying to locate a copy of a book that relates to a Mercer co family, title 'History of the Mitchell Clay and Phoebe Belcher family' by Alan Deibel (main author). I have only found this book at the familysearch.org site but thought surely somewhere a library in the southern WVA or southwest VA area had a copy. published Austin, Texas: J.C. Lowe, 1990 I can't find it at the WVA State Library, Library of VA or DAR library D.C.either. Hope someone knows the clue to locating a copy. thanks

My Dad, Richard Ben Bodell, born Feb. 4, 1927(yr?) in West Virginia died July 4, 1996 in Virginia. Things I know - grew up in Princeton. His father and mother both died before I was born...therefore I know very little about them. His siblings- Russell, Robert (Bobby), William (Bill), Betty, Margaret.. I think his father was in the plumbing business... His brother Bobby Bodell lived and owned mechanical contracting business in Princeton (old Ingalls or Ingallside Road??) until his death a few years back.

Seeking information on Oscar L. Bennett. He is listed in the South Eastern Reporter as the defendent in a Supreme Court of Appeals of W. Va. in a case evolving in Mercer County regarding support of an illegitimate child (Wright vs. Bennett 05/07/1922). The plaintiff in that case is Amelia Wright - She would be my great grandmother, and the illegitimate child would be my grandmother, Olive Wright. I have found some info on an Oscar Bennett who was the police chief in Bramwell - I have no idea if that's the same Oscar Bennett or not.
