COUNTY - 1784
The
names appearing on this printing were taken from microfilm number
T-498, Roll 3 (Virginia), The National Archives, Washington, DC.
The
first and second census records for Virginia were lost as a result of
the War of 1812. Certain state of Virginia enumerations taken by the
early Justices during the year 1782 and 1784 have been used iin lieu
of the 1790 and 1800 Census.
The 1784 listing gives the total only for whites and some additional data relating tothe total number of dwellings and other buildings owned by the Head of Family. the information pertaining to the structures was evidently taken for tax purposes.
