In the name of God, Amen.
I
Abraham good in the County of Hampshire
and State of Virginia being infirm
in body but
of a sound and composing memory do make this
my last will and
testament in manner and
form following Viz
First I give unto the ground my
body
to be buried decently (at the discretion of my
friends) in hope of a
resurrection to a better life
Secondly I desire that my just debts
should
be paid.
Thirdly I give unto my wife Sarah Good all my
movable
property to be disposed of by her as she
pleases, only that her sister Ann
Smith shall ……..
…….. her support off the same as long as she
lives.
Fourthly I give unto my brother Peter Good
all of my real
estate (after the decease of my
wife Sarah Good) or to his heirs, on
consideration
that if my slave Lewis should become infirm
and ….need…. a
support that him or his heirs
do provide a support for said Lewis.
And
Lastly I do appoint Thomas Welch to
execute this my last will and testament.
Given under my hand this 28th day of De
cember 1833.

Greeting
Know you that we trusting to your fidelity
and
provident circumspections in examining John Saulters
A witness
attesting the will of Abraham Good deceased
hereunto annexed, authorize and
require you, that at such
certain day and place as you shall appoint. The
witness
aforesaid before you, you call and cause to come, and
diligently
examine on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty
God, touching the execution of the
said Will and
that
County
attestation
thereto and this examination into our ^ Court

and plainly, without delay you shall send and
certify
enclosed, returning also this writ, together with the

Good annexed to the commission herewith enclose and

appeared before me at my office in the said Town of Athens,

the said will being shown to him makes Oath that the said
Abraham Good
signed and Subscribed the writing annexed to
the said commission as his last
will and testament in the presence
of the said witness and that the said
testator was of disposing
mind and memory, and that the said witness
subscribed
his name as a witness thereto in presence of the testator
and
at his request.
