A HANDSOME STORE
THE NEW HOME OF CHAS P PETERS'
OLD ESTABLISHED BUSINESS
Since 1886, Mr Chas P Peters has conducted in Keyser a
stove, tinware and metal working business which has long been
recognized as one of the leaders in its line.
The local trade is large, but by no means comprises the
full extent of Mr Peters' operation. contracts are taken for roofing,
guttering, spouting, etc, throughout the surrounding country and
adjoining towns, and this feature makes a large item in the annual business.
the work is well and thoroughly done, as Mr Peters, who is
a practical man, personally supervises each contract, and takes the
personal pride in the appearance of his work. Realizing that a
workmanlike * improves the appearance of a residence or building,
while botch? work detracts therefrom, he permits no slighting or
minor details by his employees, and can refer with the certainty of
approval to any patron for whom he has filled contracts. This is one
of the chief elements of his success.
All kinds of tin and sheet iron work and repairing is done,
and a large stock of stoves carried at the store. Mr Peters has the
exclusive sales here of Cinderella double heaters and rangers, than
which no finer goods are made and for which a ready demand exists,,
as well has the sole agency in Keyser for the Othello range. Sunshine
stoves and the Crystal Sunshine airtight double heater, and the New
Alma Double heater and stove - all prime favorites, sold with a
guarantor and being the best, for the price asked on the market. Mr
Peters is also agent in Keyser, for the Cortright Metal Shingles.
These shingles are handsome, durable and easy to lay. Besides being
absolutely stormproof they possess the additional merit of being
supervious(?sic) to fire. Wherever introduced they have given perfect
satisfaction and are justly pronounced the acme of desirability in
shingles. Estimates to cost of these shingles for any residence or
building will be promptly furnished, the prices have been greatly
reduced recently.
The new home of this business is on East Street, opposite
the court house, is unquestionably the finest store interior in
Keyser. The building is a two story and basement structure 12X52 feet
in size, newly painted and having a plate glass store front, which
greatly adds to its attractiveness. One of its most striking
decorations is a handsome sheet steel ceiling 11 1/2 feet high in the
main salesroom. Another feature which permits the convenient handling
of heavy stock is the large freight elevator. The workrooms are
located in the large and well-lighted basement, underneath the main
salesroom. The building is complete in every detail and reflects
credit on the enterprise of its owner. Mr Peters is now moving into
this modern business *. Having ample room, he will add hardware and
other lines to his stock, and he invites an inspection of his new
business home and goods. Next door to the store is Mr Peters
attractive residence.
