COMBINATION STORE
SHOES AND HARNESS
ARMSTRONG STREET
A P RITZELL, PROP.

The "Combination Store" established, July 18,
1895, managed by Messrs J M and J C Linthicum, is one of the best
stocked among Keyser's smaller business enterprises. The general line
of shoes, carried embraces an unusually wide choice in footwear of
all styles, grades and prices. "**eiser" shoes, 1898
shapes, dressy and up-to-date in every way are a specialty for men.
For ladies, the Harrisonburg Shoe Co's products have "made a
hit" in Keyser. Attractive appearance, style wear and price make
them a highly desirable purchase.
Mr J M Linthicum is a practical shoemaker, and a specialty
is made of repairing. Mr Linthicum is a Confederate Veteran and has
an army record no easy to duplicate in point of participation in
battles and skirmishes. He was in the 18th Regiment, Virginia
cavalry, is a prominent member of the Masonic order and financier in
the A O U W.
During his absence, his son, J C Linthicum, who has
mastered the shoemaker's as well as the harnessmaker's trade, attends
to the entire management; although as a rule his attention is
confined to dealing in harness, collars, etc., and harnessmaking and
repairing. he has acquired a high reputation for superior
workmanship, and justly so. Fifteen years active experience have ?
him in possession of all the points connected with this business.
Although handling factory made harness of all kinds, the specialty is
handmade work to order. A hand-made ? harness, plain finish, is
turned out, as low as $30. There is economy in buying made-to-order
work. Durability is a big point, and so is appearance. Such a harness
can also be depended on; It don't bread at critical moments when
subjected to an unusually heavy strain. Its general use would lower
the list of annual, runaways, considerably. A immense stock of
harness, collars, blankets, whips, etc., is carried.
