"I have a copy of Mary Thomas's land deed dated June 1867 . In this deeds she states "..........William Warner Thomas is at this time building a water grist mill on the lands of said Mary Thomas and William Thomas to be propelled by the water running from Big Spring on said lands and probably in part by the water conveyed from New Creek by water canal............"

This deed was recorded in Deed Book No.3 Pages 429 (I cannot understand rest of inscription.) Recorded by J. ? Barrick in Mineral County. February 24, 1870...

The grist Mill was sold to Charles McNeil around 1879 and he enlarged it .........(per date on stone; pic enclosed.) It had a quick face lift in the 1980's and the orginial wheel had deterioated and replace with the small Wheel. The Big Spring referred too is the other pictures........... Also the Current Site of A Maple Festival held each Spring
