It would be best if requests for lookup were limited in scope. "Tell me everything about the Smiths" is probably too broad. <grin>

Lookup Offers

Most of the books listed below are by authors who are not online. But they have agreed to do lookups from their books by regular mail. So if you're interested in a lookup in a book and the author doesn't have an email tag, then request your lookup by postal mail. If you don't get a response, let me know. The ones who have email addresses, you can, of course, contact them by email. Please keep your lookup request to two per surname.

39th Kentucky Mounted Infantry, U.S. Volunteers, CD-ROM.

The 39th Kentucky Mounted Infantry was one of the most active Union regiments in the mountains, drawing many of its recruits from the border area. As a unit, it is strange, mysterious, enigmatic, effective, controversial, hated, and misunderstood. This disc contains the company rosters, the information from Speed's book and from Dyer's Compendium, all of the Official Records references to their service and personnel, select biographical material from contemporary sources, the full text of Judge Stewart's and Captain Collins' first-hand accounts, plus additional articles provided by 39th Kentucky regimental historians Sergeant Brian E. Hall and Robert M. Baker. The files are in jpeg and html formats accessible on almost any PC-compatible computer. $24.95. Shipping and handling to any of the lower 48 is $2.50. Call 606-877-3154 or
