She recounted the story of the Baldwin-Felts detective agents throwing the belongings of the miners into the muddy road. According to my grandmother, Cabell married the sweetheart of Sid Hatfield while Sid was away at in the army. Upon Sid's return he finds out that she has married Cabell.Cabell owned a drugstore. Family talk was that during the big gun battle, Cabell was shot in the back. They always suspected Sid. Six weeks later he married the grieving widow. DeAnna Lee New, Gilbert, WV.

I need help! According to my birth certificate my mother, Virginia Ethel Brown, maiden name Brown, was born in Giles County. I was born in 1943, certificate lists her age as 41, so she would have been born in 1901 or 1902. She listed General Delivery Pearisburg as her address, and her usual address as Williamson W. Va. > My father is listed as Arnold Emory Brown born in Botetourt County Virginia. He was 45 in 1943, so he would have been born in 1897 or 1898. I have a daughter who is ill, I desperately need family medical history. I would like to find the two siblings. Thank you, Suzanne Brown Watts
