     Conrad Rader was enrolled on 27 Nov 1861 at Wheeling, Ohio Co., W.Va., in Company "P" of the 6th W.Va. Infantry, to serve 3 years. He mustered into service as a Private 26 Dec 1861, at Wheeling. He re-enlisted as a Veteran Volunteer 19 Feb 1865 for three more years and was mustered out with his company at the end of the war, 10 June 1865.

     The son of Charles Rader, Conrad was born in Paris, Seine, France on 20 Jun 1847. He married Meine Bingel 29 Jun 1865 in Ohio County, W.Va. [bk 5, pg 6]. Conrad died 6 Jan 1900 and is buried at Pensinsula Cemetery, Wheeling, W.Va. [TOMBSTONE]
