Naturalization

Archibald Fisher an alien who has arrived in the United States and is desirous of being naturalized a citizen thereof this day appeared in Court and in pursuance of the act of Congress made a report of himself which report is in the following words to wit: I Archibald Fisher make the following report of myself to the County Court for Ohio County in the State of Virginia, that is say I report that I was born at Glasgow in that part of the British Empire called Scotland on the 17th day of October in the year 1804 being now in the 35th year of my age. that I am a subject of the Queen of Great Britain and Ireland owing allegiance that Monarch and none other. That I migrated from Scotland in July in the year 1823, and landed in the city of New York in the State of New York in the month of August of the same year, and from there removed to Wheeling in the State of Virginia in the same year where I have since continued to reside and that I intend to settle myself in the said City of Wheeling in the State of Virginia in the United States.

And thereupon the said Archibald Fisher declared an oath, this day that is bona fide his intention to become a citizen of the United States and to renounce for ever all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign power potentiate state or sovereignty whatever and particularly to Victoria Queen of Great Britain and Ireland, and the same Archibald Fisher also took the legal oath, for giving assurance of fidelity to the Commonwealth in order to entitle himself to certain rights and privileges and advantages of a citizen which are allowed upon taking the said oaths by an Act of the General Assembly of Virginia.
