Located in West Liberty, Ohio County, West Virginia, this cemetery was formerly known as "West Liberty Military Cemetery." Many of the original 450 gravestones are either missing or they are illegible.

POSEY, Jas. - Soldier 4 Pa. Cavalry [Research notes: JAMES POSEY was a Private in Company "I" of the 4th PA Cavalry. He enlisted in Company I, Pennsylvania 4th Cavalry Regiment on 26 Jan 1864. Mustered out on 01 Jul 1865 at Lynchburg, VA.( History of Pennsylvania Volunteers, 1861-1865 ) He received a pension in 1889 and his certificate number is 513.922. Date of death would be in the pension files. He left minor children when he died, and one or more received a pension. - In the 1880 census of Buffalo District, Brooke County, WV, James, a farm laborer, was 57, and his wife, Jane, was 26.
