From the light at State Route 2 and Washington Street in St. Marys, WV go south on State Route 2 3.2 miles to Clark Street in Belmont, WV; turn left on Clark Street for 0.3 miles (dead end) and then turn right on Triplett Street for 0.2 miles. The cemetery is located about fifty yards behind the Belmont Volunteer Fire Department Training Center on the left. The Belmont Elementary School Grounds are on the right.
This cemetery is the resting place of twenty five boxes of remains removed from the burial grounds of the Pleasants County Poor Farm when the Belmont Elementary School was built in the 1950s. There are no records of whom is buried here by the county. The graves are neatly marked by five rows of five concrete blocks each. See The Home for the Homeless in the History section of this site for the history of the poor farm.
