LST on the Ohio River, WW II
Photos provided by Ruth Knight Ingram, sister of George Knight, aboard the LST.
These pictures of an LST on the Ohio River during World War II were taken by the John Knight family. Their son, George Knight, was on it when it came down the river. The pictures were taken from John Knight's cornfield on the river bank in the lower end of St. Marys, Pleasants County, W.Va., as it passed under the "Old St. Marys" bridge. Picture #5 of the beached LST was George's ship, probably in England.
