VA son of Daniel and Mary Ronk of Logan Co. WV - died in the Post Hospital 2 Oct 1864 Charleston WV of typhoid, he left no widow or children his father Daniel was murdered by rebel soldiers near his home 17 Nov 1862 - His mother  Mary, was forced by the rebels to flee Logan County for the much safer and federally controlled Kanawha Co. - Mary said in a pension letter that shortly after Daniel was killed her three oldest sons joined the Union Army
