Mason, Lewis - Company I - MA#295726 - enlisted 6 Feb 1862 Wyoming Co. VA - 5’10”tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair - born about 1834 Logan Co. VA son of Edward and Margaret Mason - Lewis served about 4 months in the Logan Wildcats, Confederate Army with his brother Nimrod - his mother Margaret applied for a pension in 1894 while living at Nelson WV - Lewis was the oldest of 11 children 6 boys and 5 girls - the only siblings in pension letters were: Leander S. born 6 Jun 1852; Tinsley? 15 Mar 1855; Emmazetta 23 Dec 1857; Mirah 25 Apr 1862 - his father Edward died 9 Jul 1877 - at enlistment the family lived on Huffs Creek, Logan Co.WV, about 3 miles from it’s mouth next door to Evan Brown - in 1863 the family moved to a place close to Ironton OH - after the war they returned to Tony’s Fork of Huffs Creek - they later moved to Hopkins Fork of Laurel Creek in Boone County WV

 

Mason, Nimrod - Company I - PC#19196, WC#712523 - 1st Lt. - enlisted 25 Feb 1862 Wyoming Co. VA - 5’6”tall, fair complexion, grey eyes, light hair - born about 1838 Logan Co. VA - died 6 Dec 1909 Griffithsville WV - married Mary Etta White 5 Nov 1868 Boone Co. WV - children: Aaron born 28 Jul 1869; Flora 26 Oct 1870; Columbia 15 Sep 1872; Gordon 2 Apr 1874 and Almeda 29 Mar 1877 - Nimrod also served in the Logan Wildcats of the Confederate Army

Children: Mary M. born 1 Feb 1882; Louemma J. born 23 Nov 1884; William A. 4 April 1886; Christopher C. born 18 March 2 1896 - Mary and Christopher were dead in 1915
