James Woodrow Bair, 90, of Beckley, died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2002, at Sunbridge Pine Lodge extended care center following an extended illness.
Born Oct. 12, 1911, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Robert Taylor and Mable Kent Bair.
Mr. Bair was a Beckley businessman for many years, having been the treasurer of Bair Brothers Inc., and was the former owner and operator of East Main Motel in Beckley. He was a member of United Methodist Temple, Beckley, and was a lifelong resident of Beckley.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bair, in 1979; a brother, Adolph Bair; and five sisters, Ruth Snead, Marie Campbell, Ina Bair, Nedra Diehl and Lucy Donovan.
Survivors include three sons, James A. Bair and his wife, Dorothy, of Fairborn, Ohio, William Kent Bair and his wife, Britt, of Lake Shore, N.C., and Robert T. Bair and his wife, Vicky, of Beckley; a sister, Bobbie Short of Beckley; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Ellen File officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Aaron and Brian Bair, and Sam Shrewsbury.
