Pearl Ballengee

Beckley - Mrs. Pearl Willis Ballengee, 80, of 1728 Harper Road, died at 8:05 am today in a local hospital after a long illness.  Born Oct. 8, 1887 in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late T. T. and Lelia Beasley Willis.  survivors include two brothers, Frank, Goochland, Va. and R Kyle, of Hampton, Va.  She was the first telephone operator in Beckley and was employed by the Trap Hill telephone Co. as it was known at that time.  She was a member of the First Christian Church and the Anchor class.  She was also a member of the Moose Auxiliary.  Funeral Services will be help at 11 am Wednesday in the Keyser Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Walter H. Griswold in charge.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the at the funeral home after 6 pm Tuesday.  Raleigh Register - Beckley WV - Monday Afternoon - Nov. 20, 1967
