Obituaries for the Boggs Family

Leta M. Honaker Boggs

 Mrs. Leta Mae Honaker Boggs, 84, of Mavscott, formerly of Eccles and Prosperity, was dead on arrival Saturday, June 13, at 12:30 pm at an Oak Hill continuous care center after a long illness.  Born Sept. 20, 1902, at Sandlick, she was the daughter of the late George and Ellen Athy Dillon.  Mrs. Boggs was a member of the MacArthur Church of God.   She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest J. Honaker, in 1953; her second husband, Henry Boggs, in 1974, and six brothers.  Survivors include a son, ernest Eugene Honaker of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters Annie Jewell Bennett of Eccles and Ella Marie Snuffer of Mabscott; two sisters, Ina Daniels of Eccles and Garnet Hurt of Rivesville; 14 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.  Services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Melton Mortuary chapel in Beckley with the Rev. Otis Clyburn Officiating.  Burial will be in the Calfee cemetery at Mount tabor.  Friends may call today from 6 pm to 9 pm.  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
