Monnia A Boothe

Mrs. Monnia A. Boothe, 88, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 20021 at the Brier Nursing Center in Ronceverte. She was born Jan. 2, 1913, at Second Cree, and was the daughter of the late Robert Reed and Cora Reed White. She was an active, dedicated member of the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church where she served on the board of deacons. Monnia was a retired nurse who had tenderly cared for many members of the community throughout her career. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Roy Boothe in 1995; a daughter, Carol Sue Boothe; two sisters, Georgia Martin and Rachel Sampson; two brothers, Lee Reed and Lawrence Reed. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy A. Stringer and husband Alan on Beaver Creek, Ohio; her sister, Sallie Boone of Organ Cave; her sister-in-law Bessie B Hodge of Roanoke, Va.; and her brother-in-law Charles Booth of Fairlea; several nieces and nephews, and the many members of her extended family and friends whose lives she so dearly touched and enriched. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2002 at 2 p.m. at the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Weston Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg. Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Ronceverte. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the William Roy and Monnie A. Boothe Memorial Scholarship Fund C/O BB&T, 100 Maplewood Avenue, Ronceverte, WV, 24970. Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte is in charge of arrangements.
