W. Lucille Bowles
MEADOW BRIDGE - W. Lucille Bowles, 77, of Beelick Knob, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2001, at the home of her daughter, Connie Gwinn of Meadow Bridge, following a short illness. Born Dec. 13, 1923, in Meadow Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Ira H. and Margaret Tincher Patterson. Mrs. Bowles was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church, Meadow Bridge, a housewife and mother. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Janet Bowles and Linda Bowles; a sister, Florene Rudisill; and two brothers, Clyne and Durwood Patterson. Survivors include her husband, Lester "Hick" Bowles; three daughters, Connie Gwinn and her husband, Jim, of Meadow Bridge, Bonnie Wray and her husband, Penny, of Conover, N.C., and Virginia Jones and her husband, Pete, of Kent, England; four grandchildren, Kevin, Darrell, Melody and Brandie; five great-grandchildren, Kaila, Matthew, Felicia, Harley and Austin; and loving nieces. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Sherman McCombs officiating. Burial will follow in Patton Cemetery, Meadow Bridge. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Kevin Martin, Darrell Blair, Kevin Harless, Charles Mullins, Gary Craig and Robert Cales. Flora J. Bowles
OAK HILL - Flora Jane Tatariski Bowles, 74, died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Charleston Area Medical Center, Memorial Division, following a short illness. Born Dec. 9, 1926, in Summerlee, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Dietch Tatariski. Mrs. Bowles was retired from the city of Oak Hill and was former owner and operator of Jane's Photography Studio. She was a member of Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons, Walter Joseph Bowles of Zebulon, N.C., and Jeffrey Bowles and his wife, Lisa, of Oak Hill; two daughters, Marilyn Wriston and her husband, Alden, of Oak Hill and Carilyn Bowles of Beckley; two brothers, Louis Tatariski of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Paul Tatariski of Arlington, Va.; two sisters, Frances Hobbs of Portsmouth, Va., and Marcella Eads of Gastonia, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Patricia Jane Wriston, Amanda Wriston, Lindsey Bowles and Caitlin Bowles, all of Oak Hill. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. James Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. E. Jeanette Bowles
LANCASTER, Pa. - E. Jeanette Bowles, 80, passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 22, 2001, at Marvain Manor, Lititz, Pa., following a long illness. Born Feb. 20, 1921, in Alderson, she was the daughter of the late Daniel M. and Allie G. Flack Bowles. Miss Bowles was a retired office worker for RCA in Lancaster. She was affiliated with the Christian Church and was very active in the church as long as her health permitted. Survivors include a sister, Janese Bowles of Alderson; and a few cousins. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Groves Funeral Home, Union, with the Rev. Donald Lowe officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg. Friends may call noon until time of service Monday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Groves Funeral Home, Union.
