Katherine May Breen

BUXTON - Katherine May Breen, 10, of Buxton, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002 at her home after a lifelong illness. Katherine was born August 15, 1991 in Portland, a daughter of Shawn and Patricia Hall Breen. While living with her condition, Katherine showed strength and courage, and adored the nurses and caretakers who took care of her. She enjoyed music, travelling, stories, and playing with her therapists and teachers. Surviving are her parents, Shawn and Patricia Breen; paternal grandparents and their spouses, Patricia and Larry Daniels, and Clarence and Lucy Breen; a maternal grandmother, Gwendolyn Hall; a foster grandmother, Theresa Libbey; aunts and uncles, Denise and Roger Breen, and Michael and Amanda Breen; three cousins, Chrissy and Delilah Breen, and Katie LaBelle; and three special relatives, Margaret, John, and Marguerite Hartley. She is loved by all. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, Rt. 202, Buxton. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dan Carr will officiate. Burial will be in the spring in South Buxton Cemetery. Harry H Breen

HINTON - Harry H. Breen, 85, of 418 James St., died Wednesday, March 13, 2002, in Summers County Appalachian Regional Hospital, Hinton. Born Nov. 28, 1916, in Hinton, he was the son of the late George L. and Nannie Meadows Breen. Mr. Breen was a member of Central Baptist Church, Hinton. He was a retired construction heavy equipment operator and a World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by five sisters, Lillian and Ola Breen, Mildred Light, Bert Hatcher and Nellie Reed. Survivors include a sister, Joyce Musgrave of Hurricane; five nephews, Skip and Tom Musgrave, both of South Charleston, Larry Light of Hurricane, David Hatcher of Roanoke, Va., and Ray Hatcher of Reno, Nev.; three nieces, Carol Stone of Beckley and Jenny Wolford and Lisa Keeling, both of Hurricane; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel, Hinton, with Pastors Lynn Maddy and Bill Ballengee officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Burial Park, Hinton. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Pivont Funeral Home, Hinton.
