Lula M. Burnett

Lula M. Burnett, 89, of Sprague, died Wednesday, July 25, 2001, at Raleigh General Hospital following a long illness. Born July 25, 1912, in Beshma, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Sam High and Emma High. Mrs. Burnett was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Offie B. Burnett; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include a son, the Rev. John M. Burnett of Sprague; six grandchildren, John II, Offie, Michelle, Esau, Frankie, Chelsea; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Service will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Harper with the Revs. Ronald Dyer and Thomas Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour before the service Monday at the church. Arrangements by Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor, Beckley.
