Roscoe J. Cadle
MOUNT HOPE Roscoe Jackson Cadle, 58, died 1:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born April 19, 1941, in Raleigh County, he was the son of the late Warren Cadle and Pearl Totten Cadle. Mr. Cadle was a maintenance employee at a factory in Columbus, Ga., and had been a 19-year resident of Mount Hope. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harry T. Cadle. Survivors include a son, Tom Cadle and his wife, Maria, of Fontana, Calif.; two daughters, Angela Kelley and Sharon Arnsdorf, both of Columbus, Ga.; four brothers, Rufus Cadle of Sophia, Noah Cadle of Pax, James Cadle of Bradley and Thomas Cadle of Grants Pass, Ore.; two sisters, Evelyn Wrinkle of Crab Orchard and Cora Rogers of Oak Hill; and eight grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with Pastor Edward Garten officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
Betty J Utt Cadle
Betty J. Utt Cadle, 70, of Amigo, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2000, following a short illness. Born Oct. 3, 1929, in Sophia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ophelia Richards Utt. Mrs. Cadle was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Cadle; six brothers, Harold, Wayne, Phillip, Harry, Ronald and Emmett Utt; two sisters, Chrisella Smith and Geneva Utt; two sons, George and Randy Cadle; and three grandchildren. Survivors include eight sons, Fred Cadle and his wife, Carol, of Helen, William Cadle and his wife, Loretta, of Rhodell, Jack Cadle and his wife, Anna, of Bragg, Chuck Cadle and his wife, Charlotte, of Amigo, Joe Cadle and his wife, Teresa, of Rhodell, Clifton "Dink" Cadle and grandson Michael Dale, with whom she made her home, both of Amigo, Ricky Cadle and his wife, Vicky, of Amigo and Don Cadle and his wife, Rhonda, of Amigo; two daughters, Trisha Bolen and her husband, David, of Besoco and Alice Shrewsbury and her companion, Woodrow Wilson, of Amigo; three sisters, Burnice Brooks of Soak Creek, Leona Hensley of Soak Creek and Ava McKinney and her husband, Tom, of Beckley; 26 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Sophia, with the Rev. Charles Bolen and Pastor Billy Calhoun officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis Graham Cemetery, Basin. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Sophia.
Francis 'Buddy' Cadle
Francis "Buddy" Cadle, 71, of Circleview Dr., Beckley, died 2:20 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2001, following a long illness at his home. Born Aug. 1, 1929, at Rhodell, he was the son of the late Walter Cadle and Mary Blankenship Cadle. Mr. Cadle was a retired construction worker and a former self-employed coal hauler. Mr. Cadle was a member of the Coal City Freewill Baptist Church and had lived most of his life in the Odd and Rhodell area. He was preceded in death by brothers, Glen, Golden, Lloyd, Marvin, Eugene, Orley and Lowell Cadle. Survivors include nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Frankie Lyons officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jack Hampton Jr., Bobby Adkins, Glen Lyons, Monty Mitchem, Tom Lewis, Wylie Brown, and Glen Bolen. Geneva A Cadle
RAINELLE - Geneva Alice Lively Cadle, 88, went to Heaven to be with her Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at her home following a long illness. Born Jan. 22, 1913, in Summers County, she was the daughter of the late Frank Bunyan and Effie Caroline Johnson Lively. Mrs. Cadle was a member of Lick Creek Baptist Church, Green Sulphur Springs. She was a devoted mother, homemaker and friend to everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Clark Cadle, on Dec. 20, 1988; two infant children, Marvin Ray and Helen Faye; a son, Cecil Clay Cadle, on Dec. 30, 1999; a son-in-law, Ronnie Janney, on July 27, 2001; five brothers, Lester, Frank, Millard, Claude and Glen Lively; two sisters, Opal Zickafoose and Mary Lou Clemente; and three grandchildren, Michael Sweeney, Lula Johnson and Gloria Nichols. Survivors include a sister, Carolyn Sue Ferguson and her husband, Pete, of Hurricane; a brother-in-law, William Clemente of Henley, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Bertie Lively of Green Sulphur Springs and Nettie Lively of Radford, Va.; eight daughters, Mae Keeney and her husband, Raymond, of Rainelle, Juanita Sweeney and her husband, Bill, of Austintown, Ohio, Regena Janney of Chicago, Geraldine "Jerri" Stickler and her husband, Lacy, of Walbridge, Ohio, Carolee Christian and her husband, Chuck, of Jekyll Island, Ga., Donna Witt and her husband, Merrell, of Clifton Forge, Va., DeAnna Jenkins and her husband, Ed, of Rainelle, and Rhonda Harper and her husband, Danny, of Danese; a daughter-in-law, Patty Arbogast Cadle of Southington, Ohio; six sons, Melvin and his wife, Ina, of North Jackson, Ohio, Howard and his wife, Peggy, of Wileyville, Claude of Grassy Meadows, Gary and his wife, Judy, and Danny and his wife, Ruth, all of Newton Falls, Ohio, and Emil and his wife, Linda, of Clifton, Va.; 54 grandchildren; 99 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Smathers Funeral Chapel, Rainelle, with the Rev. Keith Shumaker officiating. Burial will follow in Wallace Memorial Cemetery, Clintonville. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral chapel and one hour before service Saturday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Granddaughters will serve as flower bearers.
