Michael Calloway

Michael Calloway, 48, of Glen Daniel, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, in a Parma, Ohio, hospital following a long illness. Born June 20, 1952, in Mingo County, he was the son of Carl and Helen Abarday Calloway of Glen Daniel. Mr. Calloway spent his childhood in Logan County and attended Logan High School. He came to Glen Daniel in 1982. He was a maintenance worker for Citgo and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was of the Protestant faith. He enjoyed the outdoors as well as his family and friends. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Judy Kay Calloway. Survivors also include two sons, Sean Calloway and his wife, Jessica, of Sissonville and Kevin Johnson of Angole, Ind.; a daughter, Joyln Glenn of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Brenda Friend and Betty Miller, both of Indianapolis; five brothers, Carl Calloway Jr. and his wife, Christine, of North Manchester, Ind., David Calloway and his wife, Christine, of Lebanon, Ind., Kelly Calloway of Florida, Phillip Calloway of Beckley and Jerry Calloway of Dandridge, Tenn.; two aunts, Alma Calloway and Glenna Calloway, both of Glen Daniel; an uncle, William Calloway of Glen Daniel; and two grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Erma Hudgins officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Those going to the cemetery are asked to meet at the funeral home at 3 p.m. Sunday. Cousins will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Beckley.
