Ruth T. Campbell
MIDDLETOWN, Ohio -- Ruth T. Campbell, 79, formerly of Beckley, died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999. Born July 4, 1919, at Clear Fork, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Mays and Minnie Mallory Mays. Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker, a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Usher Board, New Era Usher Federation, Matron of the Youth Choir, and the Social Savings Club. She was an avid bowler on various leagues. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace C. Campbell; two sisters, Mary Williams and Juanita Robinson; and two brothers, Ulvert Mays and Joseph Mays II. Survivors include two sons, Charles Campbell and his wife, Brenda, of Beckley, and Armaray Campbell and his wife, Marsha, of Middletown, Ohio; stepdaughter, Arnetha Campbell of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren, Angelique Bradshaw and husband, Rodney, of Alexandria, Va., Eric and Melissa of Beckley, Marshauna, Amauria and Malauna of Middletown, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Evan and Michaella Bradshaw, of Alexandria, Va.; a sister, Ardean R. Vaughn and her husband, William, of Roanoke, Va.; and a host of relatives and friends. Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church, 304 Worley Road, Beckley. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call one hour before the services Wednesday at the church. Arrangements by Ritchie and Johnson Funeral Parlor, Beckley.
Susie Ellen Campbell
Susie Ellen Campbell, 76, of Beckley, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born Nov. 17, 1922, at Grandview, she was the daughter of the late Harlow and Susie Gilkerson Ewing. Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker, a former employee of Beckley Manufacturing, Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital and Southern West Virginia Clinic. She was a member of Stanaford Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James V. Campbell; two brothers, Forrest and Bill Ewing; four sisters, Hannis Johnson, Myrtle Todd, Vergie Ewing and Zelia Whiting; and a grandchild, Shane Campbell. Survivors include a son, Gary Campbell and his wife, Bea, of Suffolk, Va.; three daughters, Donna Brown and her husband, Robert, of Beckley, Carolyn Richardson of Beckley and Kimberly Campbell, at home; two sisters, Nina Adkins of Cranberry and Laura Belle Shirkey of Beckley; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with the Revs. Phillip Lilly and Bill Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons Gary Brown and Jamie Campbell and friends Jimmy Dale Pachuta, Sammy Suttle, Darrell Todd and Howard Miller. Ora Gladys Campbell
HICO - Ora Gladys Campbell, 96, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2000, at an Oak Hill hospital following a short illness. Born April 1, 1903, at Prosperity, she was the daughter of the late William and Lillian Phillips. Mrs. Campbell was a lifelong resident of Hico, a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, Hico, and a homemaker. She will always be remembered for her generosity and loving care of others. She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Campbell; two sons, James W. Treadway and William Alva Campbell; three sisters, two brothers and a grandson. Survivors include a daughter, Mildred E. Crist of Hico; a sister, Virginia Miller of Oak Hill; five grandsons, a granddaughter, six great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wallace and Wallace Funeral Home, Ansted, with the Rev. Allen Donaldson officiating. Burial will follow in Legg Cemetery, Hico. Ruby J Campbell
GOSHEN, Ind. - Ruby Josephine Campbell, 86, formerly of Fayetteville, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2001, at Hickory Creek of Goshen Care Center following a long illness. Born Oct. 31, 1914, in Servia, she was the daughter of the late Czar Junior Metheney and Delila Hicks Metheney. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Montville Community Church, Montville, Mich., and was formerly employed as a seamstress for SanTress Draperies, Elkhart, Ind. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Campbell, whom she married May 19, 1965; a daughter, Sharon Mae Rose Lancaster Goff; and three brothers, B.H. Metheney, Roy Thomas Metheney and Bernard Metheney. Survivors include a son, Alec Allen and his wife, Joanne, of Goshen; two daughters, Mary Coburn and her husband, David, of Cannelton and Delila Reese and her husband, Kenneth, of Elkhart; two stepdaughters, Thelma Varney of Belfrey, Ky., and Loretta Kendrick of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Cynthia Bailey of Kincaid; a half sister, Geneda Marks of Duck; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Dodd-Payne-Hess Funeral Home, Fayetteville, with the Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley. Beatrice P Campbell
Beatrice Pauline Campbell, 81, of Albert Avenue, Beckley, formerly of McGraw Apartment, Harper Road, Beckley, died Monday, Jan. 7, 2002, in a Beckley hospital following a short illness. Born Jan. 17, 1920, in Lester, she was the daughter of the late Fleet Davis and Macie Covey Brooks. Bea spent her early childhood in Lester and attended Trap Hill High School. She retired from Colony Drug after 28 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Campbell; and two half sisters, Darkus Jane Harriot and Mary Clay. Survivors include three daughters, Bobbie Knapp and her husband, William Franklin, of Nitro, Kenna O'Neal and her husband, Roger, and Carolyn Puckett, all of Beckley; a son, Charles Larry Campbell and his wife, Sheila, of Beckley; four grandchildren, Terrica Wolfe, W.T. Knapp, Buddy Campbell and R.D. O'Neal; five great-grandchildren, Scott Warden, Christi and Aaron Holtsclaw, Charles Matthew Campbell and Andrew O'Neal; a great-great-grandchild, Destiny; two half sisters, Annadean Hendrick of Stanaford and Betty Sizemore and her husband, Denny, of Baltimore; and four brothers, Omer Brooks and his wife, Christine, of Atlanta, Ralph Brooks and his wife, Nancy, of Cocoa Beach, Fla., Alex Brooks and his wife, Ernestine, of Weston and Don Brooks and his wife, Sue, of Grafton, Ohio. Service will be 1 p.m. today at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Kenneth Killen officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Freda J Campbell
Freda Jane Hogan Campbell of Calloway Heights went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2002, in a Florida hospital following a long illness. Born in Huddleston, Va., she was the daughter of the late Charles Hogan and Myrtle Belcher Hogan Hubacher. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Calloway Heights Baptist Church and Senior Friends. She was an employee of Montgomery Ward for 39 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Campbell; two brothers, Leon and Charles Hogan; and a sister, Daphine Hogan. Survivors include her son, Carl Edward Campbell and his wife, Lesia, of Beckley; her daughter, Jane Ann Pierce and her husband, Frank, of Spring Hill, Fla.; her sister, Reba Whitt and her husband, Eddie, of Hico; four grandchildren, Leigh Ann Williams of Kaibua City, Hawaii, Kim Carr of New Port Richey, Fla., Carla Blevins of Lewisburg and Brent Campbell of Beckley; and three great-grandchildren, Crystal Williams, Chase Williams and Skylar Blevins. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Calloway Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
