Erma A. Carlisle

MARYSVILLE, Ohio - Erma A. Carlisle, 101, died Wednesday, May 16, 2001, at her home following a long illness. Born March 10, 1900, in Hollywood, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Lelia McMann Reed. She married Edgar A. Carlisle on May 23, 1920, in Union. He preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1971. She was also preceded in death by a son, Garland Carlisle, in 1981; and a brother, Wilbur Reed. Mrs. Carlisle was a homemaker who with her husband moved from Cleveland in 1947 to their farm on Watkins Road, where she lived until she moved to her current home on South Cherry Street in 1968. She was a charter member of Evangelical Friends Church who loved her Lord. She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening. Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Virginia Carlisle of El Segundo, Calif.; two sisters-in-law, Kathryn Reed of Plain City, Ohio, Wilburna Carlisle of Springfield, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, and many followers in Christ. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home, Marysville, with the Revs. Glenn Althouse and P. Edward Vinson officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Grove Cemetery, Plain City. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Shiloh Chapel Evangelical Friends Church, 16435 Square Drive, Marysville, OH 43040 or Loving Care Hospice, 113 S. Main St., Marysville, OH 43040. Arrangements by Mannasmith-Hale Funeral Home, Marysville.
