Carrie M Cody

FAYETTEVILLE - Carrie Mae Moore Cody, 85, of Route 1, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2002, at Ansted Center following a long illness. Born Jan. 7, 1917, at Toney Hollow, Route 1, Fayetteville, she was the daughter of the late James Garfield and Amanda Florence Toney Moore. Mrs. Cody was a homemaker and a member of Calvin Advent Christian Church, where she was secretary and treasurer for 45 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Cody; a daughter, Betty M. Jones; a son-in-law, Franklin Edward Jones; and a son, Raymond Moore. Survivors include two sons, Elmer Ray Cody of Oak Hill and James William Cody of Vermillion, Ohio; four daughters, Shirley Ann Carr of Fayetteville, Cheryl Jane Suttle of The Colony, Texas, Karen Kay Morton of Lizemores and Sharen Faye Morton of Elyria, Ohio; a sister, Freda Josephine Tincher of South Haven, Mich.; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Calvin Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Tony Rucker and Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Bibb Cemetery, Route 1, Fayetteville. Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Pallbearers will be Frankie Jones, Eddie Jones, Jimmy Joe Jones, Elmer C. Jones, Cody Jones, Lee Jones, "Lytl" Randy Morton and Chris Jones. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the home of Franklin and Betty Jones. Arrangements by Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill.
