Obituaries for the Craven Family

Mary E. Craven

Mary Ellen Craven, 86, of Beckley, died 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, in a Fayetteville care center following a long illness. Born March 27, 1913, in Glen Rogers, she was the daughter of the late Oddey Williams and Sarah E. Hornsby Williams. Mrs. Craven was a homemaker, had lived most of her life at Crab Orchard, and was of the Methodist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Craven. Survivors include a son, Paul E. Craven and his wife, Ella Mae, of Beckley; a grandson, Paul E. Craven II and his wife, Brenda; a granddaughter, Terri Savisky and her husband, Lewis; and five great-grandchildren. Committal services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Blue Ridge Mausoleum Chapel of Peace with Mrs. Craven's nephew, George Williams Jr., presenting the eulogy. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. There will be no visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
