Ramona Mae Creed
Ramona Mae Creed, 69, of 213 Cherry St., Beckley, died 6:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, 1998, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born June 5, 1929, at Mabscott, she was the daughter of the late Charles Harmon Hanson and Sarah Elizabeth Dressler Hanson. Mrs. Creed was a lifelong resident of Beckley and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Hutchinson; and a sister, Joy Lee Carter. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, George Howard Creed; four sons, Tommy Creed and his wife, Shannon, of Baltimore, Md., Charles Creed and his wife, Lee, of Beckley, David Creed and his wife, Kim, of Beckley, and Chris Canfield and his wife, Ida, of Kalkaska, Mich.; two daughters, Brinda Presnell and her husband, Mike, of Baltimore, and Sarah Currence and her husband, Mike, of Lewisburg; a brother, Ronald Hanson of Beckley; four sisters, Betty Pugh and Carol Yancey, both of Beckley, Deloris Moorehead of Shadyside, Md., and Rosalee Tate of Baltimore; a grandson, Matthew Creed of Baltimore; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua David Creed and Megan Canfield. Services will be 8 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel with Pastor Paul Zutaut officiating. George H Creed
George Howard Creed, 83, of 213 Cherry St., Beckley, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at his home following a sudden illness. Born March 9, 1918, in Prosperity, he was the son of the late Thomas Alexander Creed. Mr. Creed was a retired coal miner and lived most of his life in the Beckley area. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and a member of the original Darby's Rangers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Mae Creed. Survivors include three sons, Thomas A. Creed and his wife, Sharon, of Baltimore, Charles H. Creed and his wife, Lee, of Mabscott and John D. Creed and his wife, Kimberly of Beckley; two daughters, Brinda Presnell and her husband, David, of Baltimore and Sarrah E. Currence and her husband, Michael, of Fairela; a brother, Troy Creed of Lansing, Mich.; two grandchildren, Chris Canfield and Matthew Creed; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua David Creed and Megan Nicole Canfield. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with an eulogy by Brinda Presnell. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
Sarrah Elizabeth Creed
FAIRLEA - Sarrah Elizabeth Creed, 48, formerly of Beckley, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. Born Sept. 7, 1952, in Beckley, she was the daughter of the late George Howard and Ramona Hanson Creed. Ms. Creed was a homemaker and a resident of Fairlea for the past 15 years. Survivors include two sons, Chris Canfield and wife, Ida, of Beaver and David Creed and wife, Kim, of Beckley; six stepchildren, Averil Canfield, Jimmy Canfield, Wanda Canfield and Roberta Canfield, all of Lewisburg, and Bobby and Edith Canfield, both of Tennessee; two brothers, Tom Creed and wife, Sharon, of Baltimore, Md., and Charles Creed and wife, Lee, of Mabscott; one sister, Brinda Creed of Baltimore, Md.; and two grandchildren, Megan Canfield and Josh Creed. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call one hour prior to service. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
