Murder Cases being Tried Now
Sherman Mayes Convicted.

Sherman Mayes charged with the murder of Theodore Jarrell, was found guilty Saturday of second degree murder. He was charged with murder in the first degree, he having shot and killed Jarrell some months ago. At the same time he wounded two other negroes in the fight.
Mayes pleaded self defense. He has not been sentenced by the court but the penalty attached to such a conviction is from five to eighteen years at Moundsville.
