James Elbert "Jim Bob" Toney, 49, of 122 Ninth St., Beckley, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness. Born May 3, 1951, at Beckley, he was the son of the late Willie Motley and Louise Toney. Mr. Toney was formerly employed at J&L Company in Cleveland, Ohio, was a graduate of Stratton High School and was a member of Welcome Baptist Church in Beckley. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jennie V. Toney; and an uncle, Wavely L. Toney. Survivors include three sisters, Charlene Motley of East Orange, N.J., Vickey Simms and her husband, Paul, of Washington, D.C., and Katrina Wilson of Cleveland, Ohio; three aunts, Elizabeth Dillard and her husband, William, of Rocky Mount, Va., Elnora Austin and her husband, Marion, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Ann Toney of North Beckley; and one greatuncle, Frank Toney of Sprague. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Welcome Baptist Church, Beckley, with the Rev. David Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Stanaford Cemetery, Stanaford.
