Myrtle French Allen

Myrtle French Allen, 90, of Colcord, died Friday, July 6, 2001, in Charleston Area Medical Center, General Division, following a long illness. Born April 17, 1911, in Page, she was the daughter of the late William A. and Nannie Aliff French. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Allen; her stepmother, Augusta French; a sister, Cannabelle Chandler; three brothers, Kenna, Azel and Wade French; and two sons-in-law, Charles Dillon and Calvin Stover. She was a member of Syca-more Free Pentecostal Church of God, Colcord. Survivors include five daughters, Joyce Stover, Kitty Din-gess and her husband, Paul, and Arlene Petry and her husband, Carl, all of Colcord, Louise Harris and her husband, John, and Agnes White and her husband, Benny, all of Doro-thy; five sons, Bill and his wife, Martha, of Whitesville, Eugene and his wife, Lois, Johnny, Larry and J.B., all of Colcord; 23 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Sycamore Free Pentecostal Church of God, Colcord, with the Revs. Cecil McClellan, Jerry Tyree and Carl Wingo officiating. Burial will follow in Estep Cemetery, Ameagle. Friends may call one hour before service Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be Jimmie and Jamie Austin, Michael and Rickie White, Wally White Jr., Randy Stover and Aaron and Adam Flowers. Arrangements by Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville.
