HINTON - Willie Robert Bennett, 68, of Zion Mountain, died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, June 23, 1999, in a Princeton hospital following a long illness. Born Sept. 9, 1930, at Bertha, he was the son of the late Robert Isaac and Grace Florence Bonds Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a lifelong resident of Summers County and a disabled truck driver. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Lawrence Bennett; and three brothers, Russell, Raymond and Roger Bennett. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Martha Berry Bennett; three sons, Jimmy and Carl Bennett and Dennis Bennett and his wife, Betty, all of Zion Mountain; three daughters, Ruby Lilly and her husband, Randy, and Jewell Adkins and her husband, Paul, all of Pipestem, and Barbara Lilly and her husband, Aldie, of Ellison; five grandchildren, Michelle Hicks, Becky Yancey, Jennifer Bennett, Jeremy Adkins and Joe Lilly; two brothers, Ronald and Calvin Bennett, both of Zion Mountain; and two sisters, Ethel Willie of Hinton and Effie Weikle of Zion Mountain. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with the Rev. Ray Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Restwood Memorial Gardens, Hinton. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral parlors. Pallbearers will be William and Gary Bennett, Raymond Gill, Jamie Yancey, Chris Hicks and Jeremy Adkins.
