Henry Lee Crawford, 72, of Coal City, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. Born Jan. 21, 1929, at Winding Gulf, he was the son of the late John Henry and Dewey Lee Lilly Crawford. Mr. Crawford was a retired coal miner last working at Slab Fork Coal Company as a general superintendent. He attended the Coal City Community Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Meadows; and a brother, Estel Crawford. Survivors include his wife, Rita Flinchum Crawford; a son, James Wayne Crawford and wife, Carmella, of Charleston; two brothers, Dennis Crawford and wife, Geraldine, of Prince-wick and Howard Crawford and wife, Vickie, of Cool Ridge; and a sister, Manila Brakefield of Massilon, Ohio. Service will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Williams-Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Lewis Higginbotham and Clemis Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. L.W. Sears, Ron Hayworth, Jacky Thomas, Johnny Crawford, Benjamin Crawford and Kendall Smith will serve as pallbearers.
