MATHENY - Dolly E. Dilly, 70, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 12, 2001, at her residence following a long illness. Born May 5, 1930, in Sundial, she was the daughter of the late Hinton and Matilda Peters Pettry. Mrs. Dilly was a homemaker, a lifelong resident of Wyoming County and attended Oceana Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dilly; a sister, Tollie Bonds; and two brothers, Mont and Denver Pettry. Survivors include a daughter, Mary Clay of Arnett; three sisters, Stollie Parsons of Matheny, with whom she made her home, Bonnie Lowe of Easton, Md., and Bradie Peters of Linchfield, Ohio; three brothers, Woodrow Pettry and his wife, Melda, of Westlake, Ohio, Vincent Pettry and his wife, Zettie, of Glen Daniel and Howard Pettry of Cleveland; three granddaughters, Mary Helen Mamola of Dameron, Stephanie Acord of Arnett and Rachel Wells of Texas; three great-grandsons, Christopher, Brandon and Jacob Payne; and several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Evans Memorial Chapel, Oceana, with Brothers Randy Bowles, Eugene Sparks and Darrell Stapleton officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Evans Funeral Home, Oceana.
