Frederick Moss Williams, 63, of Grandview Road, Daniels, died Thursday, March 8, 2001, at his home following a short illness. Born June 28, 1937, in Beckley, he was the son of the late Moss and Marie Hawley Williams. Mr. Williams spent his childhood in Glen Daniel and was a 1955 graduate of Trap Hill High School. He also graduated from Concord College and Marshall University. He taught at Trap Hill High School and Liberty High School and retired from Shady Spring High School. He had been a resident of Daniels since 1973, moving from Beckley. When his health allowed, he loved hunting, fishing, gardening and shooting black powder guns, and was an avid follower of WVU football. He was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Michael Williams; and his grandparents who raised him, Fred and Mertie Hawley. Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Nora Lee Richmond Williams; a son, David D. Williams of Daniels; two sisters, Lucy Bone and her husband, Dewey, of Beckley and Elizabeth Calloway and her husband, Dick, of St. Albans; three nieces and two nephews. Committal service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Park Mausoleum, Beckley, with the Rev. Jim Reed officiating. Burial will follow. Friends may call 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Melton Mortuary, Beckley. Those wishing to attend the committal service are asked to be at the funeral home by 2:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be friends.
