LEWISBURG - Laura Sheppard Falls, 85, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2001, at Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home, Fairlea. Born July 28, 1916, in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura Bryant Sheppard. Mrs. Falls was a member of Jane's Chapel Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Falls, on Sept. 30, 1990; and five brothers, Carl, Ray, John, Paul and Thomas Sheppard. Survivors include her daughter, Fern Avila and her husband, Justo, of Houston; a son, Roger Falls and his wife, Giselle, of New York; two stepdaughters, Frances Mankins and her husband, Lee, of Ohio and Betty Hoylman and her husband, Don, of Fairlea; a stepson, Gene Falls of South Carolina; five grandchildren, Michelle Coffin, Romy Pirotte, Mark and Jeff Avila and Chris Falls; five stepgrandchildren, Karen, Mellisa, Shirley, Dennis and Donnie; and a sister-in-law, Violet Falls. Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, with the Rev. Jack K. Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg.
