Edna Dale Biggs Bailey in Florida around 1952
Edna Dale Biggs married Lacy Bailey, but their marriage record is too faint to copy. Raleigh County Marriages Volume 5; 1905-1907 pg.30 August 15, 1905. Lacy Bailey 21, born Raleigh County. Edna Dale Biggs 18, born Raleigh County. Information from Lacy Bailey and A.J. Biggs. Married by A.L.Hutchison at Atkinsville. The wedding photo is a copy given to me by their granddaughter.
Lacy was born March 20, 1884 in Prosperity, Raleigh County West VA. His Parents were Elias Thomas Bailey and Anna Laura Godbey Bailey.
Lacy was a coal miner and worked the mines of West Va., Ohio, and Kentucky. Lacy and Edna separated sometime between 1912-1916. They had 5 children.
Lacy then married his cousin Daisy E. Bailey, they had possibly 5 children. Three of the children - Woolsey Herman, Ruth Ivory and Kathleen were raised by Ruth Ada Griffith Bailey Biggs and John Austin Biggs. Ruth was Daisy’s mother.
Lacy was married a third time to a Maggie Conley. Maggie and Lacy raised 6 Children. The first was born in 1924 the last 1937 all born in Kentucky. Lacy and Maggie are Buried in Garrett, Kentucky. Lacy died Jan. 25.1959 in Garrett. .
Edna was a tiny woman and family members say she was a hard woman to please. Edna also chewed tobacco .Edna would spend time here and there, taking turns living with her family members. Edna moved to Florida around 1951 with her daughter Bess and family. She resided in The Tampa area until her death in 1961.

Census: Edna Dale Biggs: Raleigh County census 1900, Election Precinct Household #79; Biggs, Andrew J. b- Oct 1859, age: 40 married 19 years; Fannie C.; Jany. 1853, 47, 3 children Edney D., April 1888, 12 daughter, Mason H., April 1891, 9, son, Gracy P., June 1893 6, daughter.

Lacy: Jan. 25, 1959, Garrett, Kentucky Edna: “Tampa, Hillsborough County Florida. Certificate # 6829. Edna Dale Bailey, Hillsborough, White, Female, D- Feb.1961.” On her death certificate we find the following information: she was in Hillsboro County Hospital located on 712 E. waters, widowed, a housewife, b-April 2 , 1889, Beckley West Va., age 71, owned a home, US Citizen. Parents listed as “Father: Jack Biggs; Mother: Fannie Godby.” She was under the care of a Dr. from 1-24-61 to 2-11-61; she died at 2:25 am and was buried Feb.13, 1961 Myrtle Hill Cemetery Tampa, FL. Arrangements by Jennings Funeral Home Tampa, FL.
