Elvia G. Farley, 70, of Pineville, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998 in a Welch hospital following a sudden illness. Born Dec. 5, 1927, at Pineville, he was the son of the late Charlie and Flora Farley. Mr. Farley was a retired lift truck operator of Fel-Pro and an Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was preceded in death by a brother, Curtis Farley; and a sister, Sylvia Wooten. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Rose Farley; a step-daughter, Mary Vinson of Waukegan, Ill.; four sisters, Gurtude Acord of Anaconda, Ill., Annie Cook of Lefthand, Carolyn Kefeys of Dallas, Tex. and Regettie Farley of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel with Brother Bob Varney officiating. Burial will follow at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny. Friends may call 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Service, Pineville.
