Davada Bell Farley, 78, of Lester, died Wednesday, September 16, 1998, at her home following a sudden illness. Born July 5, 1920, at Slab Fork, she was the daughter of the late Oscar and Dona Keaton Farley. Miss Farley was a lifelong resident of Lester. She was the faithful caretaker of her mother and her brother Troy for many years. She was of the Baptist faith, and in her leisure time she enjoyed flowers, gardening and visiting her neighbors and family. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Troy, Edward and Gomer Farley; and two sisters, Elma Fain and Hallie Bailey. Survivors include two sisters, Almeda Fuller of Beckley and Clara McKinney of Lester, with whom she made her home for the past 17 years; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Beckley.
