Eunice E. Ferrell, 69, of Canary Drive, Beaver, died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at the home of her son, Bobby, in Hewett, surrounded by her family, following a long illness. Born April 22, 1930, at Irish Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Claude James Meadows and Mossie Eunice Payne Meadows. Mrs. Ferrell worked for the U.S. Postal Service at Clothier for 35 years until she retired and moved to Beckley in 1994. She was a Christian and a vibrant independent person who loved to garden, cook and can. Survivors include a son, Bobby Frank Ferrell and his wife, Connie, of Hewett; two brothers, Kermit Meadows of Hewett and Clyde Meadows of Irish Mountain; two sisters, Ruth Watson of Indiana and Mavis Bragg of Ohio; a granddaughter, Melinda Ferrell of Hewett; a grandson, Craig Ferrell and his wife, Amanda, of Hewett; a great-granddaughter, Emily Ferrell of Hewett; and friends. Services will be 2 p.m. today at Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Edward Garten officiating. Burial will follow in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery, Abraham.
