Georgianna Collins Jackson, 75, of Beckley, died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at her home following a long illness. Born Dec. 21, 1925, in Mount Hope, she was the daughter of the late Dennis C. and Ruth Ann Perry Collins. Mrs. Jackson was a retired registered nurse, having worked at Green Cross Hospital in Akron, Ohio, and Beckley Hospital. She was a graduate of Mount Hope High School and Laird Memorial School of Nursing in Montgomery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Edwin Jackson, in 1966; two sons, Mark Stephen Jackson and Samuel Edwin Jackson; a sister, Gertrude Lewis; and a brother, Dennis E. Collins Jr. Survivors include two sons, David E. Jackson of Beckley and Michael D. Jackson and his wife, Debra, of Bradley; two daughters, Jeanette B. Comeaux and her husband, Wendall, of Hampstead, N.C., and Carol Ann Morgan of Wilmington, N.C.; a sister, Lucille Persinger of Bradley; three brothers, Harold Collins of Mount Hope, Charles "Pat" Collins of Hudson, Ohio, and Ray Collins of Akron, Ohio; and seven grandchildren. Service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Melton Mortuary Chapel, Beckley, with the Rev. Roy Seaux officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call noon until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Melton Mortuary, Beckley.
