Sylvia Lee Dillon Jarrell, 84, of Naoma, went to be with the Lord Friday, April 23, 1999, following a short illness. Born Feb. 16, 1915, at Sandlick, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nanny Rorrer Dillon. Mrs. Jarrell was a homemaker and she was a 58-year member and treasurer for 32 years of the Naoma United Methodist Church. She was also a charter member of the Eastern Star at Whitesville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Jarrell, an infant grandson, and two brothers, Vesper and Dewey Dillon. She is survived by five sons, Roger Hamilton and wife, Maxine, Raymond Jarrell Jr. and wife, Kim, and Raymond Jarrell Sr. all of Naoma, Lloyd Jarrell and his wife, Mary, of Rock Creek, and Donald Jarrell and wife, Bernice, of Surveyor; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, two stepgreat-grandchildren, and a best friend, Melba Meadows of Naoma. Services will be 11 a.m. today in the United Methodist Church, Naoma, with the Rev. Hank Wriston officiating. Burial will follow in Adkins Cemetery, Naoma.
