Robert Clarence Jennings, 79, of MacArthur, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at his home following a short illness. Born Aug. 23, 1919, in Prosperity, he was the son of the late Malcomb Howard and Carrie Osborne Jennings. Mr. Jennings was a lifetime resident of the Beckley area and attended local schools. He was last employed by Kayo Oil in Charleston. He was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil E. Jennings. Survivors include five brothers, Lowery Jennings and his wife, Elizabeth, of Oak Grove, Deward Jennings of MacArthur, Raymond Jennings of MacArthur, William "Bill" Jennings of MacArthur, and Jerry D. Jennings of Apple Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Helen Jackson of Daniels and Nellie (Dot) Stevens of Virginia Beach, Va.; a niece, Judy Rhodes of Charlotte, N.C.; four additional nieces and seven nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Calfee Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Ken Overdorf officiating. Burial will follow in the Calfee Cemetery, Mount Tabor. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Beckley, and one hour before the services. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements by Calfee Funeral Home, Beckley.
