ROCK FALLS, Ill. -- Mildred A. Lewis, 79, of 1101 5th Ave., formerly of Beckley, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at her home following a short illness. Born June 23, 1919, in West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Pricilla Cradle Pack. Mrs. Lewis was employed at Borg-Warner in Dixon prior to her retirement, and she attended the Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Earl Lewis in April of 1990, whom she married on June 2, 1950 in Ashland, Ky. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include a son, Johnny E. Lewis and his wife, Bonnie, of Rock Falls; three grandchildren, Joseph R. Lewis of Sterling, Derick L. Lewis of Rock Falls, and Davia L. Lewis of Sterling; four great-grandchildren; four sisters, Beatrice Hylton of Shady Spring, Carmen Young of Prosperity, Shirley Brier of Colonial Heights, Va., and Nellie Jean Barnabi and her husband, Bob, of MacArthur; three brothers, Samuel A. Pack of Mabscott, Jimmy Pack and his wife, Rita, of Rock Falls, Ill., and Lionell K. Pack of Brisbain, Australia; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 2 p.m. today at the McDonald Funeral Home, 1002 12th Ave., Rock Falls, Ill, with the Rev. Dalmus Meeks, Pastor of Harvest Time Bible Church officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Rock Falls, Ill. Friends may call noon until time of the services today at the funeral home.
