No 1 is my great-grandfather John Henry Mellen/Mellon. He was born in 1828 in Lewis County, NY and died in Beckley, WV. He was buried in Wildwood Cemetery. He was a Quartermaster Sgt. in the Union Army in Civil War. He was discharged frim CCamp Piatt in Charleston at the wars end. H e moved to Beckley from Kanawha County about 1870. He supposedly brought the first steam driven sawmill into Raleigh County.
