COLUMBIA, S.C. -- James Wilson Mann, 73, formerly of Hinton, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in a Columbia hospital. Born at Hinton, he was the son of the late Henry Clarence Mann and Pauline Wilson Sims Mann. Mr. Mann retired as civil service employee at Fort Jackson, S.C., following 32 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Fair Lawn United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Betty Johnson Mann; a daughter and son-in-law, Paula Mann Lynch and Billy Lynch of Irmo; a son and daughter-in-law, James Mann Jr. and Terri Mann of West Columbia, S.C.; two grandchildren, Tamara Davis Mann and Megan Michelle Mann; a brother and sister-in-law, David Sims Mann and Judy Mann of Hinton; and a niece and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens of Columbia. Friends called 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
