BROKEN BOW, Okla. - Erma Mae Martin, 78, formerly of Corliss, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2001, in Oklahoma. Born June 27, 1923, in Miller, she was the daughter of the late Willie Koontz and Icie Mae Hughes Miller. Erma Martin had been a resident of McCurtain County, Oklahoma, for six years, moving from West Virginia. She was a homemaker and raised 10 children. She battled cancer for the past two years, and was a member of the Minnie Belle Baptist Church of Corliss, W.Va. Erma was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James C. Martin; three sons, John, Gerald, and Kermit Martin; three brothers, Leon, Charles, and Don Miller. Survivors include three daughters, Sharon and husband Rick Cunningham of Oklahoma, Margaret Sticklen of Virginia, and Joyce and husband John Jones of Wyoming; six sons, Bob and wife Bonnie Martin of Virginia, James and wife Jenny of West Virginia, Charles and wife Alice of Virginia, Calvin Martin of Pennsylvania, Owen and wife Sarah Martin of Virginia, Jack and wife Cynthia Martin of Oklahoma; one sister, Katherine and husband John Diehm of Texas; three sisters-in-law, Marjorie Miller of Ohio, Sarah Miller of West Virginia, and Nelda Miller of West Virginia; 25 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Wallace and Wallace Chapel in Rainelle with Pastor Gene Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Cemetery Hill at Russellville.
