Anne E. Meadows Gambill Massey, 81, of Beckley, died 1 a.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001, at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital following a long illness. Born Aug. 22, 1919, in Raleigh County, she was the daughter of the late Fleda Meadows Hawks. Mrs. Mas-sey was a former employee of the old Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley and the former Pagoda Supermarket. She was a member of the Beckley Church of God and had lived most of her life in Beckley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bruce Gambill; her second husband, Henry Massey; three sons, William, Larry, and Don Gambill; one sister, Lydia Boggess; and two brothers, Virgil and Roy Meadows. Survivors include two sons, Frederick Gambill and wife Phyllis of Beckley, with whom she had made her home, and Gary Gambill and wife Kathryn of Warren, Ohio; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley wit the Rev. F.D. Sexton officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley.
